Day12: Villafranca to Atapuerca (Wed 6th Oct)

Im on the road again....boot loosened to compensate for the heavily strapped foot N ankle - off to Atapuerca today via San Juan, about 19km - another short day except with 3 killer hills UP and DOWN so am being a tortoise again today ;-) only 525.5km left til Santiago!! Lol

Whilst sitting in the sun in San Juan I here more aussie accents....look up and made a comment to the couple walking past..."that sounds like more aussies" yep they´re from Perth but been in London for past 3 years working N travelling and on their way back to Aust to live - they´re walking to Atapuerca also so will possibly see them later when I arrive. But gave them my campaign flyer in case I didn´t....my flyers are all over the Camino ;-)

There seems to be an Aussie invasion on the Camino...LOL!

Arriving at the Alburgue and see my new Aussie friends....great Alburgue! After resting my crazy foot and showering, we trott slowly to the supermercado for supplies...Glen is going to cook dinner for us 3 plus Alex another quaint Aussie and Martin the Italian. A cooked meal between us all and wine is a really great and fun way to unwind rather than sit in the Bars for the Pilgrim menu....Alex is carrying his guitar across the Camino, so wine N song - ahhhhh Caminooooo! ;-)

Pasta with chorizo N bread - luckily the Italian was sneaking a look at Glen cooking the pasta and yelled out in the nick of time "turn it off NOW you will kill the pasta"!!! funny!
