Day 5 Cizur Menor to Ciraqui

It started off a beautiful day....and then the heat arrived! A gorgeous morning walking through the stunning Spanish countryside - then after lunch...the last 8km UP to Ciraqui was crazy....so much UP and DOWN!!

My walking buddy Ed and I struggled up and staggered into Ciraqui...Hell in 30C heat N no shade N major sicko HILL...made it a 9hr day walking with a 20 N 30min rest break only - BUT done N dusted for day 5 - after stretching calves which feel like twisted knots N bashed with a broken rock, am enjoying a triple strength WOHDKA...bloody well earned if I say so myself - I'm hurting tonight but still NO hot spots or blisters - walking gods luv moi.

Wonderful refugio and the hostess a lovely and so helpful lady. They provided a sensational Pilgrim meal - best spaghetti and meatballs I´ve had in a very long time. Shared the dorm room with 3 crazy Swede´s - Ed, Jonas and David.  Just us in the room and a very funny night - like a school camp with the laughing and chattering!
